29 Aug 2026 vs Romford Renegades
A third-period double from Shaun Mcleavy gave the Predators hope, but the Renegades held firm to take a 5–2 victory at Sapphire Ice & Leisure.
The Peterborough Predators saw their recent winning run come to an end on Saturday afternoon, falling to a 5–2 defeat against the Romford Renegades at Sapphire Ice & Leisure.
After impressive victories over the Milton Keynes Bolts and Nottingham Cyclones in their previous two games, the Predators travelled to Romford looking to make it three wins on the bounce.
However, it was the Renegades who established control of the contest, keeping Peterborough off the scoresheet through the opening two periods and building a lead that ultimately proved too much to overturn.
The Predators refused to go quietly, though, and came out fighting in the third.
At 05:52, #69 Shaun Mcleavy finally found the breakthrough for Peterborough, with Adam Long providing the assist.
Mcleavy struck again just over two minutes later at 08:12, this time after being set up by Jo Davies, giving the Predators their second goal of the game and offering hope of a comeback.
But despite Peterborough’s third-period response, the Renegades were able to see out the remainder of the contest and secure the victory.
The final buzzer confirmed a 5–2 defeat for the Predators — a frustrating afternoon after back-to-back victories, but one which still saw the team battle until the end.
Shaun Mcleavy was responsible for both Peterborough goals, continuing his excellent recent scoring form with another two-goal performance.
